Looking for an experienced mechanic to give me a hand changing the timing belt kit, I will be carrying out the rest of the service but may need help with bleeding the brakes on my Mk1 Golf with a 1.8T AGU engine conversion. I’ve already got the parts ready. I’m mechanically minded and do quite a bit of work on the car myself, so I’m more than happy to get stuck in and work alongside you. I’ve recently done quite a bit of the suspension and rear beam work myself. The timing belt is the one job I’m a little apprehensive about doing completely on my own. I understand the process, but as I haven’t personally done a cambelt before, I’d rather have an experienced professional there with me to make sure the timing is set correctly and everything is done properly. The car is kept in my home garage, so we’ll be working indoors and undercover. The garage has lighting and I already have most of the tools we should need, including a jack, axle stands, torque wrench and a decent selection of hand tools. If there are any specialist tools needed for the cambelt, just let me know beforehand. Ideally looking for someone who knows the VW/Audi 1.8T engines well and is happy to work alongside me. I’m actually interested in learning and understanding the job rather than simply handing the car over. All parts will be supplied by me. Please let me know your experience with VW/Audi 1.8T engines, what tools you can bring and what you'd charge for your time. Thanks!

Looking for a car body specialist or mechanic to realign/jig the boot lid on my 2015 Volkswagen Passat saloon. The boot was slightly misaligned from a past accident, which has caused a small gap in the weatherstrip seal and a minor water leak. The metal itself does not need cosmetic paint or dent repair, it just needs to be mechanically adjusted/jigged on its hinges or striker plate so it sits flush against the frame and seals properly.
