I’m looking for a quote for labour only to prepare the base for a raised sleeper bed in my rear garden please. The bed will run along the fence line and will be approx. 14.1m long x 0.9m deep. The garden has a slight slope, so the area for the 90cm bed depth needs to be levelled/prepared. (see approx area marked in the photo) Work required: * Level/prep the 14.1m x 0.9m bed footprint shown in the photo. * Remove/flatten the turf/soil where the sleepers will rest. * Dig out the perimeter of the bed where the sleepers will sit, to approx. 70mm depth, ready for MOT Type 1. * The sleepers are 100mm wide, so the MOT Type 1 base should be prepared to approx. 125–150mm wide to allow a little tolerance/adjustment when positioning the sleepers. * Lay and compact/tamp MOT Type 1 around the perimeter only. * MOT Type 1 will be supplied by me, but it will be delivered/stored at the front of the house / driveway and will need to be barrowed to the rear garden, approx. 20–30 metres away. * Removed turf and soil should be kept nearby on site on a tarp, which I will supply, as I intend to reuse it to fill the base of the raised bed. I am supplying the MOT Type 1 and tarp. Please quote for labour only. You would need to bring the tools required for digging, barrowing, levelling and compacting/tamping the MOT Type 1. This quote is for the base preparation only, not for installing the sleepers, I will do this myself.
