I am seeking an Australian lawyer or legally trained professional (commercial / franchise law preferred) to review a franchise dispute and provide initial legal guidance. Background: I am a former franchisee of an accounting franchise. I gave written notice in October 2025 that I intended to discontinue the franchise. The franchisor then removed my system access and informed other franchisees that my territory was available. In January 2026, I received a lawyer’s letter of demand seeking $100,000, alleging that I “abandoned” the franchise under the franchise agreement. I dispute this and am seeking advice on my legal position. What I need help with: Review of the relevant clauses in the franchise agreement Assessment of whether my actions constitute “abandonment” Assessment of enforceability of the $100,000 liquidated damages clause High-level advice on response strategy (defence, mediation, negotiation) Brief comments on a draft response letter Deliverable: Written advice (1–2 pages or bullet points is fine) Or a 30–45 minute phone/video call with follow-up notes
