Re: Pass-through a brief to specific barrister to get independent advice I wish to use Kevin Jones of Foley's List to give me advice on risks, if any, in using a solicitor (Tuan Van Le of Challenger Law) that my wife Shirley has used successfully for her tax proceeding for my outstanding tax proceeding. I have let go of my prior solicitors because they lacked the experience and I am presently self-represented. LIV has asked me to do this so that it is my informed decision. I am a trustee to a family trust and my wife and I are beneficiaries. The trustee and both beneficiaries became involved in tax appeals for FY15 and FY16. My wife does not provide any evidence in any of our proceedings. My wife and I have informed Challenger Law that there no information that cannot be shared between us in respect of our proceedings. I have used Kevin once as a stand-in for a case management hearing. I spoke to Kevin and he knows what to do for this job. He has estimated half a day (440/hr 4,400/day). However, he does not do clients directly, so the need to get his service through you as the solicitor. I will put together the brief, which will contain: (1) An email from Tuan to the court regarding the LIV requirement (so I don’t have to give any further explanation as to what Kevin has to deliver). (2) My appeal statement (which outlines my case and any intersection with my wife Shirley) (say 20 pgs). (3) 17 Dec 2025 court orders showing my wife getting her tax appeals allowed with costs to be determined later (7 orders for 7 proceedings - trustee and two beneficiaries for FY15 and FY16, and a debt proceeding). There are no issues from my intended solicitor or counsel in me going down this path to use Tuan of Challenger Law. I believe that the brief can be simply passed through to Kevin. Kevin has informed me that there is no need for me to share his advice with Challenger Law or anybody else – I simply need to receive it so that Challenger Law can be engaged.

Hey guys, this is for the legal eagles out that are resourceful. Ok what is needed is for a Commercial Lease to be prepared for Land in the State of Queensland. I got Chat GPT to get the format, which I am generally happy about, but I am thinking that if someone at a legal firm is out there or are resourceful, they might have electronic version of one already prepared. Essentially, this will be for a Commercial Lease (which, if you’re not aware, is, as a byproduct is noted to the title deed). Whist the lease is in place I will use a document I have prepared already which is an option to purchase the Land at a date and time to be decided. When i put in the request to ChatGPT " I need an example of a commercial lease for land in Queensland Australia" it comes back with a framework but no examples of the detail.
