We have a four-gang light switch controlling several downstairs lights. One of the switches, which operates a set of kitchen wall sconces, has stopped working following an issue after changing the bulbs. The downstairs lighting circuit initially tripped, and when we attempted to reset it there was a small spark. Once the bulbs were removed, the circuit breaker could be reset normally. We had a general worker take a look and he believes the individual light switch mechanism has broken and is missing a component. The switch currently operates all other lights except the sconces, and when the original bulb was being screwed back into the fitting, the light came on despite the wall switch being in the ‘off’ position. We would like an electrician to inspect the switch and associated wiring, confirm the cause of the fault, and provide a quote for either repairing the existing switch or replacing the four-gang switch assembly if necessary. We would also like the circuit checked to ensure everything is safe and operating correctly. If a replacement switch is required, could you also please recommend if a dimmer switch (also pictured below) could be used instead?

Bought a Simplisafe door bell which requires hardwiring. I have the chime, transformer and wiring needed to make it all work. Attached is the picture of the power source. Assume you will need to drill holes through the brick work to create a connection between the chime and transformer. Have a dormant connection point which was cut off as you come into my house. Maybe this could be used as the power source for everything? Ideally require a knowledgeable electrician and open to discuss price for quality work.

I’m looking for an experienced, qualified electrician to carry out electrical work for a pottery studio. The work required includes: * Install a new 63A three-phase submain * Approx. 35m of 16mm² 5-core SWA cable * Install a new three-phase TP&N distribution board * Install appropriate protection and a 3-phase MID meter/enclosure * Run a dedicated three-phase circuit for a pottery kiln * Install a 5-pin industrial connection/socket for the kiln * Transfer 3 existing ring-main circuits from the current single-phase consumer unit to the new three-phase board, with one ring allocated per phase * All required glands, cleats, fixings, labels and cable management * Full testing, commissioning and electrical certification on completion The kiln’s final electrical rating will be confirmed according to the manufacturer’s requirements. I’m looking for someone who is properly qualified and experienced with commercial three-phase installations, ideally someone who has previously worked with pottery kilns or similar high-load equipment. Looking for an electrician to replace my existing outdoor lights. I need 2 front wall lights fitted and 2 PIR floodlights installed (one at the rear and one at the side of the house). The side floodlight may need to be wired from the existing rear light. All lights have been purchased, so I just need installation by a qualified electrician.
