I need help replacing rotten timber sections on an exterior entrance canopy/cornice above a walkway. Would need one visit to understand and scope the work. Job Details: Removal: Strip away all rotten, flaking wood and plaster from the soffit (underside) and trim. Replace and fit smooth, flat white uPVC soffit/fascia boards over the canopy structure as needed (removing the old decorative dentil pattern for a clean, flat finish). Finishing: Seal all outer joints and edges with white exterior-grade silicone sealant for a watertight fit. Notes: Easily accessible from ground level / steps (no high scaffolding needed). Please let me know if your quote includes materials or labor only.

We have a 600cm stair runner from Dunelm, stair rods, and an anti slip mat. The stair case is painted wood with 4 curved steps at the bottom. We’d like someone to fit a stair runner, even if it’s just to the end of the straight section, but we would ideally like it over the curved section as well. We know it won’t be perfect because of the curves but the stair rods will cover that!

Hi, I’m looking for an experienced handyperson, decorator or carpenter to restore the timber threshold at my ground floor patio doors in Clapham. The exterior finish has worn away, with dark staining and surface wear along the outside edge. The timber feels very firm when pressed, but a little moss has started growing in a crack. Photos attached. I’d like someone to assess the timber, remove the moss, prepare and sand the surface, carry out any necessary local repairs, and apply a durable finish suitable for an exposed exterior threshold. Ideally, I’d like to retain the existing reddish brown wood appearance. I’d like the work completed by mid October, with flexibility for suitable dry weather.
