I have a freestanding Smeg cooker in Hackney. Two of the four gas hob burners are not working, and the far-left oven control does not appear to work. I’m looking for someone to diagnose both faults and advise on the cost of repair. Photos are available. Please only respond if you are Gas Safe registered and qualified to work on gas cookers. Let me know your diagnostic charge, whether it includes VAT, and whether it would be deducted from the repair cost. Please quote for any parts or further work before proceeding. Our solid oak kitchen worktop (currently dark stained) is looking tired: scratches, water marks and worn patches, mostly around the sink and hob. Photos attached. I'm looking for someone experienced with wooden worktops to suggest the best way to bring it back to life, and then do the work. Open to your recommendation, whether that's sanding and re-oiling or another approach you'd stand behind. The worktop is in two runs: one around the sink, one around the hob. Kitchen will be cleared and ready for you. Please include materials in your quote. Please tell me what you'd propose, and quote including all labour.

I’m looking for a qualified/registered electrician who can also carry out the associated installation work. The jobs are: • Install a new electrical socket/connection on the wall above the hob to accommodate an extractor fan, and then install and connect the extractor fan. • Install a new electrical socket/connection high up on the living-room wall to accommodate a wall-mounted TV. • Install the TV bracket securely onto the living-room wall and mount the TV onto the bracket. The wall is mortar/brick, so the appropriate heavy-duty drill, masonry bits and fixings will be required. Please only apply if you have the suitable equipment and experience for securely mounting a TV onto this type of wall. • Install a 350cm IKEA VIDGA curtain track inside a high-up curtain pelmet. The pelmet is approx. 340cm wide and 312cm high. I have purchased 3 x IKEA VIDGA single track sets. The tracks will need to be measured, cut to the required length, joined together and securely installed inside the pelmet. Once installed, the curtain also needs to be put onto the track. The high-up work will require a suitable tall ladder/platform and appropriate equipment. Please only apply if you are suitably qualified and experienced to carry out the electrical work, including testing/certification as required. Please bring the appropriate tools, equipment, drill/masonry bits and fixings required for the work. Please quote for labour and let me know separately if any additional materials are required. I can provide photos of the walls/locations and the extractor fan and TV details if required.

Existing 60cm built-in gas hob needs removing and replacing with a new electriQ 60cm 4 Burner Gas on Glass Hob (EQGH6042VOL). The current hob is connected with a fixed copper gas pipe, so this may need minor alteration/reconnection to suit the new hob. The existing worktop opening measures approximately 559mm x 495mm and the new hob specifies a 560mm x 490mm cut-out. There is a built-in oven directly underneath which can be removed for access, and a standard electrical socket is already there for the hob ignition plug. Please include removal of the old hob, fitting and connecting the new hob, any minor gas pipe adjustment required, and full gas safety/leak testing. Gas Safe registered engineer required.

Hello! I am looking into getting some minor kitchen renovations done. My goal is to change the worktop and sink. I am getting 2 planks of oak laminate worktops from ikea (both 186cm), and one needs to be cut in order to fit a kitchen space of 337cm. The sink and hob holes also need to be cut out and caulked and I am changing the sink aswell but it’s staying in the same place so no need to do any major plumbing work. I don’t know if you are the right person for this job but since it’s such a simple kitchen job ikea won’t let me book the fitting through them. They did quote about £350, which is what they charge for installing these in a bigger kitchen reno so I am looking at the same budget. Thank you for your help and time in advance!
