Floor polishing, on the other hand, can take two to three days. Other services such as concrete floor resurfacing, sealing, and repairs can take a few hours to a full day.
It depends on the service you requested. After a solid floor construction, you have to wait for at least three days before you can walk on it, and seven days before you can set heavy loads and furniture. After refinishing, sealing, and repairs, you can use your floor after 24 to 48 hours, after it has been fully cured. With concrete floor polishing, you can use your floor immediately after the service is done.
If your concrete flooring is correctly installed and sealed plus undergoes regular maintenance and polishing, it can last you up to years and even decades. Concrete floors are known for their extreme durability that it can withstand the harshest residential, commercial, and industrial conditions. Its typical lifespan also surpasses other flooring types, such as vinyl, carpet, laminate, and timber.
You can prevent damage to your floors by minimizing moisture exposure that typically leads to cracks. You can avoid this by installing joints to prevent concrete slabs from cracking. For stains, keep in mind that you can only apply safe materials for concrete surfaces such as water mixed with baking soda. A good flooring maintenance routine can greatly help in avoiding damages.
Concrete floors can be cold and damp on your feet, but no more so than natural stone or ceramic flooring. It can also be hard, but not to the point that it becomes abrasive, especially if it’s properly polished. You can also help cushion it by using rugs or carpets. This type of flooring can also feel slippery when wet, as with other flooring types.

Concrete floor sealing protects your existing concrete floors from corrosion, stains, and other damage. They work to seal the concrete pores and block salt and water absorption. Techniques such as shot-blasting or diamond grinding can prevent contamination by creating an impermeable layer. However, this must be done correctly to avoid risks such as flaking, spalling, and excessive pitting and pop-outs. Finding someone to install concrete layers near you is easy on Airtasker and can help prolong your floor's lifespan.
Even though concrete floors are known for their durability, they aren't impenetrable and can still sustain damages. This can be caused by heavy foot traffic and the constant moving of heavy furniture. Concrete floors in high-moisture areas like kitchens and bathrooms can also weaken over time. Taskers can repair cracks, breaks, joint fill separation, spalling or gauges, and other types of damage.
After having your floor fixed, how about getting someone to revamp your kitchen to match your newly-repaired flooring? You can also hire a Tasker to remodel your bathroom, so all areas of your home are given a fresh, new look!
Make your floor even more durable and shiny by getting it polished! From polished screed floor and broom finish to stamped concrete, there are various concrete flooring solutions you can choose from. Polishing your concrete floor can prevent damages from vapour and moisture and give them a longer lifespan!

I have concrete flooring in the living room, hall and kitchen and would really like this polished to a 'terrazo' look as the main finish of these rooms. The total area is about 35 sqm. Its a 1930s house so would be great if you could tell me if you think it could come out as 'Salt and pepper' look or just a consistent grey?

I work for a company that maintains plants at two different locations in London. Sadly an operative has over watered a few plants and the water has damaged the flooring at both locations. One is a wooden parquet floor and the other is a polished concrete floor. My clients need the floors repaired ASAP please. The parquet floor damage is about 1m square in size and the concrete is in 5 different areas and are about a medium pot size damage area.
