What do law tutoring services include?

It usually consists of the tutor providing feedback on your essays, going over previous papers and exams, and making sure you’re on the right track in terms of study habits. This coverage can change a bit depending on whether you want a tutor for one subject only or only want a tutor for the LSATs or the bar exam.

Assignment feedback

Law school involves a lot of writing, and one way to get better grades (and become a better lawyer later on) is to write better essays. Your Tasker can look at your papers and give feedback; some may do a bit of revising but will make sure not to compromise your academic integrity. Some law tutors may even go as far as suggesting that you show them an outline of your essay first, then build it from the approved outline.

Review of concepts, topics, or subjects

Law tutors can also help you review concepts, topics, or entire subjects. If you are struggling with international law, for example, they can help you brush up on treaty law, the law of the sea, refugee law, and so on. Any previous essays or exams can also be used as tools to drill you on concepts.

This kind of tutoring helps you if you’re struggling with a particular subject or received relatively low marks.

Exam prep

This part of law tutorial services can be valuable to LSAT takers, law students, and bar exam takers alike. The tutor shows you how to best answer a question, helps you practise the thinking that goes behind those answers, and may also take you through a few practice exams.

Some tips for acing law school exams include:

  • Make and learn your outlines.
  • Dissect each question.
  • Ask: what legal issue is being tested?
  • Ask: What legal rule should be used to answer this question?
  • Have a conclusion that includes the words “probably” or “most likely”; don’t be inconclusive nor use extremely strong, decisive language.

Expert guidance on study tools

Since outlines are a law student’s most important tool, you must have good ones. Don’t resort to ones available online or from students in other classes - you need to pass your class based on what you and your professor covered together.

Your law tutor can give you tips for outlining, help you understand your learning process better, come up with an outlining that works for you, and come up with quizzes that can test your mastery. Besides these items, your tutor can also make sure that you have the right tools for your learning style, such as flashcards, mnemonics, and even breaks between study sessions!

Law tutoring isn’t the only service you can find on Airtasker! If you need any help with writing reports for work or don’t have time to cook dinner after a busy day at school, request a Tasker to lend a hand!

Need A Traffic Lawyer

$500

Sydney NSW, Australia

9th Jul 2020

Hi, Im looking for a good traffic lawyer to help me with an appeal on the 15th of June. The appeal is for my licence, speeding +45kmh, it was 1AM I was clocked 157 in 110 zone (just 2km/h over the +45 suspension threshold), so not as bad as it sounds. I am caring for and financially supporting a terminally ill family member, if I cannot find a lawyer at a decent price I will have to appear for myself and I don’t know how that will go, (even some free verbal advice would be greatly appreciated). I have very, very extenuating circumstances and an abundance of medical certificates, character references and employment letters stating I need my licence for work etc., I just need someone to appear as I suffer from extreme anxiety to the point that I will faint. Thanks so much.

Excellent service
