Site assessment
Your plaster repair Tasker does a thorough inspection of the walls and ceilings that need repairs. They can assess the extent and nature of the damage and see if it’s as simple as plaster crack repair or is a more complex job like blown plaster repair or lath and plaster repair. Your Tasker can take the appropriate measurements of the damage, such as the depth and size of cracks, to determine how much material they need and what tools to prepare.
If during the inspection, your Tasker discovers water damage to your plaster, you may want to hire someone to check and fix the pipes before they start.
Site & materials preparation
Your Tasker may cover your floor with a plastic dust sheet or other protective material. Some Taskers may move furniture out of the way. One end of a wall-mounted double curtain rail (blockout + sheer) has pulled out of the plasterboard above a window. The top fixing has ripped out of the wall and damaged the plasterboard. I want the bracket repaired securely in the same position if possible and the wall patched around the fixing. Please bring suitable fixings for heavy curtains. If there is timber behind the wall above the window, I’d prefer the bracket fixed into that rather than just using new plasterboard anchors. We have removed old wardrobe ahead of new wardrobes being installed. Need to repair wall damage where the wall won’t be covered by new cupboards. The exposed bit will be the back wall, 30cm of the adjoining wall as well as a small section as you walk into the room, circa 20cm each side. Total width needing fixing will be slightly bigger than the exposed area - approx 40cm+40cm+25cm+25cm+260cm =390 cm We won’t repair the sections that will be covered by the new wardrobe. We also need the skirting boards removed.
Available quickly & good communication. Booked to repair plaster which I assumed would include sanding but didn’t, he did not make this clear in his quote. Could be miscommunication but I’ve never experienced a plaster who didn’t sand after filling holes so just get clarity before booking. Very thorough with the work that he did for.
