I’m looking for an experienced and practical landscape gardener to help progressively renovate an established, sloping backyard in Croydon Hills. The overall design and direction are largely worked out, and I’m looking for someone who is happy to work collaboratively and complete the garden progressively in defined stages, rather than take on a full design-and-build landscaping contract. The work will include things such as improving existing pebble pathways and edging, drainage, improving an existing small pond and water channel, screening and planters, planting, some minor timber work and general landscaping. I’d like to retain and reuse existing plants and materials wherever practical, rather than unnecessarily replacing everything. Ideally, I’m looking for someone experienced enough to assess levels and drainage, problem-solve on site and recommend practical and economical ways of doing the work. Experience working with sloping gardens would be particularly useful. I’m flexible on how the work is priced. For clearly defined stages, I’m happy to agree on a fixed price for the task. Where the scope is less predictable, I’m happy to work on an hourly/day rate with an estimated number of days or agreed cost limit before starting each stage. Ideally you normally work independently but have a labourer/offsider you can bring when a particular stage genuinely benefits from two people, rather than having a two-person team on site for every task. There should be a reasonable amount of ongoing work for the right person, but I’d like to tackle the garden one stage at a time so we can adjust the plan as the work progresses. I've got a garden project that's mostly done and just needs the right person to come in and finish it off properly. My previous landscaper did a great job but unfortunately isn't available for a couple weeks — so I'm looking for someone with genuine landscaping experience to pick up where they left off. Here's what needs doing: Install 1 x large paver (approx 800mm) — paver on-site Install 3 x small stepping pavers — on-site Prep and lay approx 10m² buffalo turf Install a plinth board Sort out drainage in one area — the drain is already there, just need someone who can assess what's needed and get it done Test and commission the front drip irrigation — timer and lines are in, just needs checking, adjusting and final connections Finish off the drip line run — tubing and fittings on-site Fit off the rear sprinkler system — partially done Cut ag pipe stub to finished level Trim pittosporum to 3m height Setup 2 x Elluminate light systems (supplied by me) — 1 front, 1 back Full site cleanup on completion This is a labour only job. We have a pile of pruned tree branches that need to be wood chipped. We will keep the wood chips for our garden (no need for removal). Easy access to the property (the pile is in the front yard). You must have your own wood chipper.

Scope of Works: Remove and dispose of all existing green timber deck tiles. Thoroughly clean the concrete/paved surface underneath, including removing all dirt, weeds, moss and debris. Supply and install a quality weed mat over the entire area. Supply and install decorative stones/pebbles (similar colour and finish to the reference image). Lift and relay the existing concrete stepping pavers so they sit neatly within the pebbles (or provide an alternative recommendation if required). Trim and shape the courtyard tree to improve appearance and reduce overhang. Remove all green waste and rubbish from site. Leave the area clean and ready for use. Requirements: Supply all materials, equipment and labour. There is a shared green bin that can be used. Must have experience with landscaping and similar projects.
