There are a few other window frames also need a bit work but not urgent. You will also need to repair some of the trim and putty. A door handle also need to be repaired if you can. The handle of the window winder snapped off. I have a same size replacement winder with a working handle. So, the old one needs to be removed - unscrewed - and the new one installed. Screws on the window frame which hold the winder's chain in place will also need to be removed. Both sets of screws will need reusing. In addition, the corners of wind out wooden window frame need minor shaving as get stuck.

We have a double hung wooden frame window in our old single storey Victorian property, whose top sash is rotting away and damaged on the inside where we installed a window lock. The top sash is also fixed in place and will not move without taking out the wooden edging/piping from the outside of the house. We need help with either repairing the sash or replacing this double hung window. If replacement is the only way (our last preference), then we will order the new window sashes based on measurements that you will need to provide.
