Fireplace installer is starting this morning. I had a carpenter lined up to frame around the fireplace but he pulled the pin yesterday. Timber onsite, just need someone handy with a saw.! The frames have already been made and installed by the original frame carpenter. But some timber studs need to be cut out so that the fireplace can be built inside, and then the timber reinstalled. I will be removing old slate tiles from the wall plus surround. I need the walls plastering where the tiles have been removed. This is the main feature of this room and the finish needs to be excellent. The room is 4.5 m wide, area running along the bottom to be plastered is around 300mm high. The area around the fireplace is around 1.5 - 2 sqm max. I appreciate the job will be dependent on what the surface is like underneath. I would like a quote to include the best case and worst case. COME QUOTE PLEASE To remove my house fireplace that is not a built in one, just sits on tiles and is attached to a chimney that will need to be blocked and secured to roof. It will leave a 13 inch square ceiling hole that will need patching and painting. THEN HANG AN ETHANOL suspended FIREPLACE (has no chimney, just like a hanging 50kg thing) that only secures at ceiling. Can't know if theres a strong internal beam where I hole one is, until we look into the ceiling. But I need this removal done asap

My fireplace is not one inbuilt, just simply all sitting against a wall. Need to know how to access a weight bearing beam and hopefully patch ceiling and paint it. New one is ethanol so no chimney. We just find a way to close it off. Want someone with lots of experience with with ceilings.
