Hi. Carpenter or builder needed to retro fit a complete new sliding door assembly. Custom made door has been ordered and it’s ready to be installed. Work will include uninstalling the old door, security and frame etc(I will dispose of it). Then the new set up will need to be installed, making sure it is all level and aligned correctly. Size is approx 2000x 1800 I may even start ripping out the old setup to save time. Door is all under cover on my deck so it out of the weather and sun. The doors purchased from China are slightly larger than the size of the door openings reserved in the wall, so it may be necessary to either enlarge the size of the door openings in the wall or reduce the size of the doors. The measured dimensions of the door openings in the wall are 1690mm*2075mm and 875mm*2075mm. We have this shed which requires ONE personnel access door of about 900mm width. The interior photo shows two options for the door location. Each location option has a beam which would need trimming. Please determine what, if any, "structural" work is required for those beams. The cross bracing is just high enough for a path of travel. Which location is preferred/cheaper? As for the type of door, we're thinking a simple steel door with frame will do. Fire rating is not required. Door locks are not required. Padbolt into the concrete floor will suffice. Perhaps something similar to the Lathams shed door range.
