Install New Pedestrian Gate Looking for an experienced handyman or fencing contractor to supply and install a new pedestrian gate between two existing limestone walls. Gap between the limestone walls is approx 940mm. Open to offers. Scope of works: - Remove and dispose of existing timber gate and hardware. - Patch and repair the existing fixing holes in the limestone wall where the current gate is attached. - Install a new white pedestrian gate, preference is aluminium. - Install a new white hinge post and hardware. - Install self-closing hinges and latch. installation requirement: The existing gate has been fixed directly into the limestone wall, which is starting to fail. I would prefer the new hinge post to be structurally supported by the existing concrete slab (e.g. bolt-down or concreted into the slab), rather than relying on the limestone wall for support. The latch can remain fixed to the opposite limestone wall if appropriate. I am looking for someone to install a pinelap fence extension on top of our existing pinelap fence. The length is 24m of boundary fencing. The height of the current pinelap fence slopes from 1.0m down to 0.6m, therefore the height of the extension will be from 0.8m to 1.2m , to bring the total height of the fence to 1.8m (the ground slopes hence the difference). SEEKING EXPERIENCED & CAPABLE FENCING GURU I’ve got an upcoming DIY architectural fencing project at my place, and I’m looking for someone to take the lead on setting out string line and lasering levels, so that we can install the vertical posts with concrete footings, and then get the horizontals all lined up, ready to be clad with timber-look aluminium… I would importantly need you to be experienced with lasering & string line, and to have you provide your own laser level. I will be providing all other materials & will be your humble sidekick, as I the mix concrete and grab the other ends of the steelwork to assist you installing them with precision. I will happily dig the holes, wheelbarrow concrete around, and do the majority of the heavy-lifting/grunt-work, as I’m primarily seeking your expertise and experience with this type of project, so that we can GET IT DONE RIGHT. Would best suit someone looking for a regular bit of extra cash on gap-days/weekends, or a semi-retired builder or tradie looking for something to do to keep busy… I’m guessing there will be around 4 or 5 days work in total, as the fence is to be 45m long and 2m high, on a moderately sloping block. I’ve already arranged for the existing fence to be removed, so you’ll have clear, unobstructed access from both the street front and the rear lane. Specifications • Colour & profile: Monument Colorbond panels, standard profile. • Line & levels: The first 13 m climbs approximately 0.5 m (roughly a 2-degree rise). After that, two flat stretches are separated by retained steps of about 0.9 m each, so the fence will need to follow those changes cleanly. • Posts: I’m fine with standard posts—happy for you to recommend whether steel or concrete footings suit the ground conditions best. • Ground & access: Easy vehicle access on both sides; no landscaping obstacles. • Timing: Current fence will be removed in approximately four weeks' time, with retaining being carried out at this stage. Installation of baby gate. I have the bought Perma Ultimate Extra Wide Barrier which should work for my stairs as well as safety gate bannister adapters to affix to railings rather than wall in case that is required . It may not be straight forward given the structure of the stairs and the railings, but I’m not sure, please see photos.
