I have a ducted heating vent in the upstairs front bedroom that does not appear to be connected to the ducting behind the wall anymore. The previous owner mentioned that the vent was originally connected when the heating system was installed around 30 years ago, but the heating in this room has always been quite weak. I recently checked the roof space and noticed what looks like a branch outlet on the heating duct that may have originally connected to this vent. However, the duct itself appears to be missing or disconnected.
