Bedroom 1 – Flickering light Inspect a bedroom light that keeps flickering, identify the cause and repair as required. Check fitting, switch and wiring/connections as necessary. 2. Bedroom 2 – Faulty double power socket Inspect the double power socket marked “Faulty Socket” on the plan. It has been short-circuiting / appears unsafe. Diagnose and repair or replace as required, then test and confirm the circuit is safe. 3. Kitchen – Floating benchtop + power point Install a simple white floating benchtop/shelf approx. 900mm W × 200mm D, at the same height as the existing kitchen countertop. No cabinetry underneath. Install one new double power socket (2 outlets total) above the benchtop, as shown in the reference image. Electrician can either supply the benchtop, brackets/fixings and materials, or recommend exactly what I should purchase beforehand. I have a light switch that needs changing by a qualified electrician. I have pulled apart the light switch to get a better look at what im dealing with. The spring behind the switch is kaput. I am hesitate to do it myself as I have only ever worked with DC voltage and not sure about the backfeed from the second power source (solar) and how to isolate it. If someone could please come and change it so I dont become part of the circuit lol , that would be amazing.
