The cable runs from my router, through the back of a dishwasher cavity, and then into the wall where it connects to a printer. The cable is visibly damaged in the section behind the dishwasher - taped together. Max lan cable distance is 15 meters! What needs to be done: • Assess the damaged section of the LAN cable behind the dishwasher • Repair or replace the damaged run (either by splicing with a coupler/keystone jack or running a new cable section) • Ensure the full cable run from router to printer is working correctly • Test the connection once complete Access notes: The dishwasher may need to be pulled out slightly to access the cable. The NBN connection is in the garage at the front of the house. That was the closest point to access for the NBN. There is a modem there connected to the NBN. The old Telstra cable for the internet is also at the same location. The NBN technician would not connect the old cable to the modem, and so I need someone to do that. That then will allow me to use another modern in the house to get the same speed as the modem in the garage.At the moment I am using 2 modems but it is not working as well as when I connect to the NBN modem in the garage.
