Need to move fridge in from outside, but to do so will need a top cabinet above the fridge cavity trimmed (as needs to be higher), remove and reattach trim around the door way (as will not fit the fridge through the door space and remove and reattach front door. I need a carpenter or experienced handyman to install a ceiling-mounted hoist in my garage. It will lift and store a rooftop tent off my ute between trips. The hoist is a Bundutec (Fredlin) manual hoist and I will have it on site. ABOUT THE HOIST - Two steel rails mount flat to the ceiling. Each rail is 1,630mm long and they sit 1,300mm apart. - Four straps drop from the rail ends, wound up by a crank and worm gear. - Rated to lift 200kg. The tent weighs between 60 and 90kg and will stay suspended for weeks at a time. ABOUT THE GARAGE - Plasterboard ceiling, roughly 2.49m from the floor. - 565 x 565mm manhole for roof space access. - The hoist position is already marked on the ceiling with masking tape, behind the garage door opener. - There is old water staining on part of the ceiling. Please check the timber above it for damage before fixing anything. THE JOB 1. Check the roof space and confirm truss type, direction, spacing and timber condition at the hoist position. 2. Fix the hoist into structural timber, either coach screwed directly into the truss bottom chords or onto timber battens spanning at least three trusses. Nothing fixed into plasterboard or ceiling battens alone. 3. Fit noggins between the loaded trusses and the ones either side to stop them twisting under long-term load. 4. Make sure the hoist is level and square to the marked position. 5. Do a test lift with the tent, then check the fixings and ceiling for any movement. WHAT I NEED FROM YOU - Carpentry or structural fixing experience, ideally with ceiling hoists or garage storage lifts. - Your own tools and fixings, plus public liability insurance. - In your offer, please say whether you would fix direct to the trusses or use battens, and roughly how long the job will take. No electrical work is included. I will organise an electrician separately if the light needs moving. Date is flexible, ideally within the next two to three weeks.

I'm looking for an experienced handyman or cabinet repair specialist to repair a small damaged section on the side edge of my bathroom vanity cabinet. The MDF board along the vertical edge has swollen, causing the laminate to lift and separate. There is no ongoing water leak. The cabinet is otherwise in good condition, so I'd prefer a localised repair rather than replacing the entire panel or cabinet. Ideally, the repair would involve trimming or sanding the swollen area, filling where necessary, and refinishing or resealing the edge to match the existing light woodgrain finish as closely as possible.
