G'day. I am looking for someone to help diagnose and either tune the carburetor or repair the fuel system on my mini jeep. It is brand new. Several basic mods done myself which shouldn't have affected it running (larger shocks, larger fuel tank and a custom paint scheme). Worked for a short five minute dry run. Heard backfiring. Went for a longer run. No backfire, but eventually sputtered and stopped after about 500m. Spark plug indicates too much fuel maybe, but my mixture and idle adjustment skills are shocking. I managed to adjust it correctly and got it running one arvo without stalling out. Started a day or two later, but it spat the dummy again. The guy at the shop I bought from is not a mechanic and can't help with the diagnosis. The carburetor is a PZ22. Engine Zongshen air cooled 150cc.

It currently won’t start — it was accidentally run completely dry of fuel some time ago. I’ll have a jerry can of fresh fuel ready, but the Jeep has been sitting unused for a few months (I’ve had a work vehicle and haven’t been able to take it to a mechanic). Before it stopped running, the OBD2 engine light had come on, but it was still driving fine at the time. There may also be a flat or weak battery from sitting idle. I’m hoping for someone honest and experienced to: - Try to get it started (or at least identify why it won’t) - Check the fuel system, battery, and any other potential issues - Give me a clear, genuine rundown on what needs doing and what it might cost to fix properly Once it’s inspected and able to start again, I’d be more than happy to pay for a full repair through you if possible. I don’t know much about cars, so I really just need someone patient and reliable who can explain things simply and help me understand what’s required. Fuel will be provided, just need the know-how to get it going again! Oil in coolant reservoir —> diagnosed as failed oil cooler by mechanic. Car is a 2007 Jeep Cherokee 2.8L CRD (KJ model) Looking at having a coolant flush + oil cooler replacement ASAP. The stop start bracket has a loose screw and needs to be screwed back on. This is on a Jeep Grand Chereoke and I don’t have the wrench to open the dash myself otherwise this could be done pretty easily. Should not take more than 20mins
