We’re looking for a registered structural engineer to assist with a retrospective building permit application for an existing free-standing pergola at our home in Melton West, VIC. This engineering work is required for submission to a Building Surveyor as part of the Building Permit application. Details: • Existing pergola, approx 6m x 6m • Free-standing (not fixed to the house) • No walls (open structure) • Currently sitting on pavers (no concrete footings) • We are happy to upgrade the footings (e.g. embed posts into concrete or as per engineering advice) • We also plan to add a lightweight Colorbond roof once approved What we need: • Site inspection (or review of photos/dimensions if suitable) • Structural assessment and calculations • Advice on required footing upgrades / rectification works • Engineering documentation suitable for a Building Surveyor • Regulation 126 Certificate of Compliance (Design) for Victoria There is no council enforcement or stop-work notice — we are proactively applying for approval.
