Looking for an experienced carpenter or handyman to secure it back into position and ensure the surrounding structure is solid. Type of Ceiling: Timber-look / composite outdoor lining board (soffit). Issue: One section of the tongue-and-groove boards has dropped down/detached from the frame beneath. Requires: Re-align and fix the panel flush back into the ceiling framework. Provide necessary fixings (screws/brad nails/adhesive). Access: Outdoor patio area, easily accessible via standard step ladder (approx. 2.4m ceiling height). Repair rotten exterior timber beside shutters in patio I have a section of external timber trim/cladding beside a window that has rotted due to previous water leakage. I initially thought the damage was limited to the vertical trim, but after removing some of the soft timber it appears there may also be deterioration to the timber behind it. The original source of the water leak has been repaired. Looking for an experienced carpenter to: * Inspect the exposed area and determine how far the rot extends * Remove all rotten timber back to sound timber * Repair/replace any affected backing timber if required * Replace the damaged external vertical trim with suitable exterior timber * Ensure the area is properly weatherproofed/sealed so water cannot get behind it again * Prime the new timber ready for painting I already have the matching exterior paint and can paint the finished repair myself if preferred. The job requires: Side 1: Installing a fixed glass wall/panel to enclose the side completely. Side 2: Installing a functional screen door (with frame) for entry/exit. One of our patio support posts was severely rusted so we had to cut out the bottom before we retiled the area. See the attached picture. This task is to help us source and install a replacement post. It’s unclear who the manufacturer is as I can’t see any discerning marks. Hopefully a person skilled in this area will be able to identify the appropriate post and get it installed for us. Scope of Work: Structural Propping: Safely prop/support the roof load while the post bases are being worked on. Removal: Cut out and remove the old, corroded steel post stirrups at the concrete level. Installation: Supply and install two new heavy-duty, hot-dip galvanized post anchors (bolt-down or chemically anchored into the concrete slab). Fixing: Re-secure the existing timber posts to the new anchors. Tiling Patch (Optional): I have a broken tile at the base of one post. If you are able to neatly lay a replacement tile piece around the new base, please let me know (otherwise, I can manage this separately). Termites have eaten away 4 support beams and 1 crossbeam of my patio. The pest company has FINALLY given us the go ahead to replace them. Happy to replace with wood or metal supports. The other side of the patio is held up by the house. We wont be replacing the lattice. It will be removed and disposed of.
