I’m looking for an experienced carpenter / exterior tradesperson (insurance cover important) to permanently fix sections of fascia on a balcony/balustrade, approx. 3 metres above ground. The main damage is at a section of timber fascia where water has caused rot around an outdoor light conduit. The light has also detached from the fascia. There are also existing PVC fascia sections at the base of the balustrade that are lifting/moving. Rotten timber fascia & outdoor light • Remove the damaged timber fascia section • Inspect timber behind (deck edge joist / balustrade base) and repair any minor rot if needed- I understand that the extent may not be known till inspected. • Install proper flashing or waterproof membrane behind the fascia • Replace rotten section with PVC fascia painted to match existing timber • Coordinate with a licensed electrician to reroute the outdoor light conduit to prevent water ingress. • Prime/paint fascia to match existing. Refit the outdoor light. Lifting of existing PVC fascia at the base of the balustrade ( about 3 sites of lifting) • remove and refit affected PVC fascia sections. Check and improve backing/fixing where needed. Assess if adequate allowance for PVC expansion/contraction • ensure fascia sits flat and secure long-term • Touch up paint/sealant as required. Leave site tidy and cleaned up. Electrical work to be carried out by a licensed electrician, either supplied by the tasker or coordinated separately if required. I understand that the final scope may change depending on the extent of rot once fascia removed and I’m happy to discuss options and approve sensible remedial works if required. Aiming for permanent fix.

This job involves timber rot caused by past water ingress, and I’m looking for someone who can properly identify the cause, fix the leakage, repair the timber correctly, and seal it properly rather than just cosmetic patching. In details, my pergola has two spots with rotted timber caused by water leakage from the gutter; a post of my sunroom has a rotted spot (exterior); part of a window frame (interior) is bit rotted due to water leakage.  There are four issues likely caused by water leakage: • Two localised timber rot spots on pergola beam ends near the gutter • One localised rotted area on an external sunroom post • A small rotted section on an internal window frame from past leakage I’m expecting the repair to involve fixing the leakage, cutting rotten wood, proper repair, sealing, and repainting. We can provide matching paint for final coats. Access is straightforward but some work is overhead and ladder-based. I understand the final scope and cost may depend on what’s found once the timber is opened up and am happy to adjust after inspection.

Need a handyman for two jobs: 1. Reattach top hinge on a timber-frame security screen door (without removing the whole door). 2. Repair small sections of timber rot on side brackets of window awnings - just patch or replace the damaged bits, not a full rebuild. Photos attached. Located in Milperra 2214.

Some parts of deck which are exposed to weather has aged and needs replacing. Most of the deck is still in good condition so looking to get the few decks replaced with new ones as an affordable option.
