While your singer comes prepared with their song list for their set, they may not arrive at the venue in the appropriate outfit. You may want to provide them with a comfortable dressing room, water, snacks or a small meal they can enjoy after their performance. Not many Taskers have their microphones, so you may have to provide them with one that’s hooked up to a sound system.
That depends on how long you want to have your singer perform. Most singers can do 1 to 2 sets of 30 to 45 minutes each, but that depends on the length of your event program and how many songs you contracted them to perform. You can ask your Tasker how long they can perform and how many songs are appropriate for your event.
Yes, absolutely! If you have a selection of songs ready, you can share this with your Tasker. They can tell you which songs they already know and which ones they may have to learn and practise. Don’t hesitate to ask if they can perform your favourites, but they may not know all of the songs - be sure to book a singer early, so they have time to practise before your event.
You can try to book a singer at least 2 to 3 months in advance, but it’s recommended you book much sooner if you have a singer in mind and they’re established in the wedding or events circuit. Some event organisers recommend you book a singer and an accompanying band at least 18 months in advance - this is especially true for weddings!
Apart from the requisite qualifications, experience and skills, try to hire a singer with a positive attitude. Look for a singer who has a good reputation for working with other people - this is especially important if you hired a band to accompany their performance. No. Singers don’t need permission from anyone - not the recording company or artist when performing a song live. Singers only need to get consent from the publishing company if they record their performance, then sell it online or on recorded media. You can have your hired singer perform a hit song at your event, as long as they don’t record it and sell it.

What do singer services include?
Singer services include all the activities necessary to provide your event with musical entertainment. You can choose from various performers like solo singers, male singers or female singers or even find acoustic singers and acapella singers with this service.
You can hire singers to perform at your wedding ceremony and reception, charity fundraiser, birthday party, New Year’s Eve party, trade show, company anniversary and any other event where a singer would be welcome and appropriate.
Planning their set
Once you’ve chosen a singer, they can meet you in person or via a video conferencing call. Your Tasker can put together a set composed of songs appropriate for your event along with those you want to be performed. Upon request, your Tasker may show you the outfit or costume they can wear for their performance.
At this stage, you can share your event program to help your Tasker prepare songs that are appropriate in terms of content and the right length. Do you have an original composition you want to be performed? Feel free to share them, but be sure to give your Tasker enough time to learn and practise the song before your event!
Demonstrating songs
After you and your Tasker have agreed on the songs, they can do a short performance so you can hear their renditions of the selected pieces. They can do this in person or through a video conferencing call. You can suggest changes in their octave or tempo if you want a song rendered a specific way.
Your Tasker can sing in the style you want until you are both satisfied. They can take notes of this and make sure to do the approved renditions on the day of the event.
Attending dress rehearsals
Your Tasker can attend dress rehearsals if necessary. They may also go to the venue at a reasonable time before the event to do a soundcheck and make sure your sound system works. Your Tasker may recommend some modifications to the venue’s sound system, so you may want to hire a separate service for this.
If you hired other live performers to accompany your singer, your Tasker could have practice sessions with them.
Performing at your event
On the day of the event, your Tasker can arrive at the venue before their scheduled performance. They can arrive promptly to do the necessary preparations. Don’t forget you can have their outfit or costume delivered on the day of the event. You may want to hire someone to document your event and have someone clean up afterwards!
Your Tasker can perform all the songs in the style, manner and duration you both agreed upon. If the crowd is pleased with their performance, some Taskers can do an encore performance.
