Door will shut and top latch will click in but the bottom lock will open and close with the key when the door is open but will not lock and turn when the door is closed. I believe the plate in the door frame needs to be adjusted / moved slightly for it to be able to go in and lock the door. We would rather repair this and not get a new handle.

I need a locksmith or handyman to install a keyed lock on an indoor sliding door. The door currently has a dummy (non-functional) lock, which needs to be removed and replaced with a proper key lock. The job also includes installing a door latch plate and along with making a hole so the lock works smoothly and lines up correctly with the frame. The door is internal, timber, and in good condition. Interior door handles on front passenger and front drivers’ side doors need replacing due to sticky door handles (rubber appears to be melting). BMW X4 2016 model. I have seen the parts available on Amazon and eBay but haven’t yet purchased - it would be ideal if you are able to supply the parts needed to save me purchasing the wrong kind.

Door will shut and top latch will click in but the bottom lock will open and close with the key when the door is open but will not lock and turn when the door is closed. I believe the plate in the door frame needs to be adjusted / moved slightly for it to be able to go in and lock the door. We would rather repair this and not get a new handle.

The key barrel for the deadbolt on the switchboard doesn't work anymore. The key just spins around. There is a physical knob in the inside that turns the deadbolt so the mechanism seems to work fine.. The key just doesn't turn it

I’ve got an aluminium sliding door with a Doric locking system that isn’t closing or latching properly. The lock turns, but the hook doesn’t seem to line up with the striker plate, so the door won’t lock securely. What I think might be needed (but open to advice): • Check alignment of the striker plate and lock • Adjust or re-seat the mechanism • Make sure the door is running square and closes smoothly • Replace parts if required (happy to cover parts separately) Photos attached for reference.
