The job was completed successfully but with a delay. Being without hot water in winter made this an urgent task. It would have been nice to have had the task completed on Tuesday (the day I posted the job) but since it was not confirmed until the middle of the day it would have been unreasonable to expect it done then. The fact that it was not done until Friday because of other work was, however, quite inconvenient and in my opinion this was unreasonable. It was disappointing that the job was accepted if it could not be done within a time frame appropriate for an urgent job. Replacing a thermostat is a fairly quick (around 30 minutes) and routine job for a plumber. If had known it would take that long I would have pursued other alternatives.

I am after a solution for a problem. So, feel free to suggest and quote: Our hot water system is connected to off-peak meter and from time to time, we run out of hot water during peak times. I wonder if it could be rewired so that in such cases I can switch it from off-peak to normal meter and basically turn it on? Replacing the hot water with a bigger capacity is not an option.
