I’m looking for an experienced floor layer, carpenter, or skilled handyman to complete a herringbone parquetry repair at a property in Bulleen. I initially looked into doing this myself but realized it’s too labor-intensive, so I need a professional to take over from start to finish. The patch is approximately 4 to 5 square meters on a concrete base. What needs to be done: Prep the blocks: The loose wood has been removed and collected. Lay the wood: Glue down the pieces in the original herringbone pattern like a puzzle. And ensure level flooring. Sand the top: Sand the newly laid patch so it is perfectly flush and level with the surrounding floor. Varnish: Apply an oil-based clear gloss varnish so the repaired area blends seamlessly with the warm tones of the existing floor.

We have a floating timber floor installed approx. 4-5 years ago. We have a few locations where gaps have opened up, mostly end to end or where boards go under skirting. There is one location where we have a gap along the long edge. Photo of one location provided. 4-5 locations total. We would like these gaps closed up and hopefully ‘glued’ to prevent reopening.

I’m looking for someone experienced in repairing floating timber flooring. A section of the floating timber floor, about 1 square metre, has buckled in the middle outside the laundry room. The floor buckles during winter but returns to normal in summer, so the issue appears to be seasonal. As far as I can tell, there is no obvious water damage.
