Looking for two friendly, capable people to help at my 40th birthday at home with around 20–30 guests. It’s a relaxed backyard celebration from 4pm–10pm, with help needed from approximately 3.30pm–10.30pm, including set-up and pack-down. Everything will be provided, including food, drinks, ice, glassware and platters. This isn’t a catering or full bar role, just two proactive helpers to keep things running smoothly so I can relax and enjoy the night. Tasks include: • Heating and serving pre-prepared food • Simple plating and arranging of food • Bringing food out and replenishing as needed • Topping up pre-made cocktails and drink jugs • Refilling beer and drink buckets • Keeping ice stocked • Clearing and washing glassware and dishes • Managing rubbish • Keeping the kitchen and entertaining areas tidy • General end-of-night clean-up No full bar service is required, as guests will mostly self-serve drinks. Cocktail experience would be a great bonus, but definitely isn’t essential. I’m looking for two reliable, friendly and proactive people who are comfortable spotting what needs doing and getting stuck in. Hospitality or event experience would be preferred. The listed budget is for two people for the full shift. Ideally, I’m looking for a pair who already work well together, but I’m also happy to consider individuals and arrange the second person separately. The main goal is simply to have two capable extra pairs of hands keeping everything ticking along so I can enjoy the celebration too!
