What does an electronics repair service include?
Airtasker’s electronics repair service covers pretty much all that you would expect at an electronics repair shop - plus added perks like home service and affordable rates. Electronics repair typically includes tools and equipment, troubleshooting, repairs and replacement of faulty parts, plus a Tasker who’ll purchase the replacement parts on your behalf.Â
While Taskers’ skills may vary from basic electronics repair to more advanced techniques, here’s what you can get done through this service:Â
GHD repair
Taskers can troubleshoot faulty hair straighteners, install replacement parts, and help you get more years out of your GHD hair iron. This is a great way to get affordable service once your GHD is past its warranty coverage.Â
LCD screen repair
This includes buffing out scratches, fixing TVs with faulty displays, or replacing cracked plasma, LCD, or glass components. LCD screen specialists can also handle fixing internal parts, like circuit boards. If necessary, they can recommend when it’s best just to purchase a new TV.
If you’d rather replace than repair, you can get a Tasker to help you mount your new television once it arrives.Â
Headphone repair
Taskers can replace worn-out padding, fix faulty plugs or jacks, and even repair the hinges of your favourite headphones. They can also help you isolate whether the problem is with your headphones or with the connected device, such as your laptop.Â
Hifi repair
Hifi repair includes fixing problems with the power board, disc tray, and other common issues that hifi owners may encounter.Â
Speaker repair
If your speakers are starting to act up and are disrupting your family’s movie night or dinner party, it’s time to have them checked by a Tasker near you. They can fix common audio problems, such as distorted sound or malfunctioning surround sound.Â
Amplifier repair
Taskers can assess and fix problems with your amp, including overheating and humming noises. The result? More hours of enjoying the music you love at full blast.Â
Circuit board repair
This is a more specific type of electronics repair since you or the Tasker have zeroed in on the circuit board as the cause of faulty device. Taskers can fix damaged pads or broken traces on the circuit board of your printer, laptop, amplifier, or microwave. Once the repair is done, they can help you assemble the device again to check if the repair is successful.
Drone repair
Drone repair specialists can fix problems like abnormal flight direction, faulty batteries, blocked GPS signals, and more.Â
Console repair
Whether you own a Wii, PS4, or Xbox, you can find a Tasker who can get it up and running again. Common problems they can fix include failed updates, freezing screens, or consoles that abruptly shut down.Â
Tablet repair
Have you got an iPad or an Android tablet that’s giving you a headache? Consider hiring a Tasker near you. They can assess your tablet’s issues, do necessary repairs, and have it up and running again.Â

I purchase adhesive DIY vinyl tiles and contact paper for kitchen floors and cabinets as well as bathroom floors. I need assistance with laying the vinyl from someone with more experience than me! Help replacing the drain hose on Simpson washing machine
$50
Bondi Beach NSW 2026, Australia
3rd Apr 2026
I bought a Simpson washing machine (ezi sensor swf10761) from FB marketplace and in transit the drain hose tore. I bought a new drain hose and attempted to replace this myself but I can’t get the drain hose out of the washing machine. It doesn’t look like the side panels can be removed either but not sure. I just need help replacing the hose. It will probably be a very quick job for someone that knows what they are doing. The hose tore where it enters the washing machine. You can see in the first image, I cut it to pull it out but it just won’t come out. The second image is the new hose.
Supply and Install Sturdy Handrails for Outdoor Steps
$1,100
Randwick NSW 2031, Australia
3rd Apr 2026
I require the removal of existing handrails and the supply and installation of four new, highly stable handrails for either side of two sets of outdoor steps (five steps per set). The current rails are screwed directly into the steps and are unstable. The new rails must be set into concrete (either core-drilled into existing substrate or set in new concrete footings) to ensure they are solid and do not rely on screws into brick. Specifications: Height: The top of the handrail must be between 865mm and 1000mm measured vertically from the stair nosing. The height must be consistent throughout the flight. Grip: The handrail must have a circular cross-section with an external diameter of 30mm to 50mm to allow for a full "power grip." Continuity: The rail should, where possible, extend at least one tread depth beyond the top and bottom risers. Scope of work: Remove 4x existing timber handrails fixed to brick. Supply and install 4x new handrails (Treated Timber or Galvanised/Powder-coated Metal). Anchor all posts directly into concrete for maximum stability. Ensure all surfaces where old rails were removed are left neat, flush, and safe. Requirements for Applicants: You must have experience with structural handrail installations. Please provide photos of previous work with an address of a prior installation in the local (Randwick council) area that I can drive to inspect the quality and stability. Tools: bring your own.

Re-solder a circuit board
$50
Centennial Park NSW, Australia
28th Dec 2025
Just need the circuit board for my standing desk re-soldered. I tripped over the cord and screwed it up. I unsoldered it and cleaned it up, but it’s too finicky for my amateur self to put back together because there isn’t a lot of wire left, and it needs to go through the back of the plastic unit that holds the circuit board (see picture 2).
Punctual and efficient, Warren did a great job soldering the wires for a circuit board that broke from my standing desk. Good as new

Electrician for replacing wall switches, headlamps, lights and sockets
$99
Kensington NSW, Australia
17th Oct 2025
We are looking for some electrical work in the house. Replacing wall switches and HVAC with smart ones, adding in heat lamps to the bathrooms and wiring in some lights. Setup is all manual switches and oldish HVAC system. Looking to make it smart using my connected Home Assistant and ZigBee setup. 1. Replace 15-20x wall switches with Zigbee-compatible smart dimmer switches/modules (mix of lighting, vents, towel heaters). Something like this https://amzn.asia/d/hDYa4GD 2. Install 3x Honeywell T6 Pro thermostats for HVAC zones. 3. Convert 3x front outdoor lights to motion or light-sensor control (still manually overridable via Home Assistant). 4. Wire 2 x accent lights above paintings to existing circuits. 5. Add bathroom heat lamp control (two bathrooms) ideally integrated with existing switches 6. Add USB-C / USB-A combo outlets: One on each side of the master bed. 7. Add new powerpoints: Porch Side of house (for outdoor use, weatherproof) Below or behind TV (for hidden cabling and media gear). 8. Add house number light with outdoor-rated low-wattage LED (ideally connected to photo sensor or schedule). Share quote for job or you might need to do a site visit first if need more info.
Elton is everything you want in a tradesman, understands the client needs and works with them deeply to make sure the right set of tasks get done. Highly recommend!
