I’m looking for an experienced carpenter/cabinet maker to complete the final installation of two custom solid Tasmanian oak sliding wardrobe doors. This is a top-hung system (not bottom-rolling), so please read carefully. Overview - Qty: 2 sliding doors - Material: Solid Tasmanian oak (raw timber – no finishing required) - Size (each): 2510mm H x 1170mm W x 30mm T - Weight: Heavy solid timber What’s already done (~90% complete) - Top track is fully installed and fixed - Doors are already built to size - Opening/walls/floor are square - Flat timber floor (no slope) - Wardrobe carcass is complete Key clarification (important) This is a top-hung sliding door system with a low-profile floor guide, NOT a bottom roller/bottom track system. - Doors hang entirely from the existing top track - Bottom only needs a small guide to prevent lateral movement - Total clearance available: ~30mm (sufficient for this system) Bottom guide details - Low-profile plastic/nylon floor guide (shown in photos) Requires: - Routing a single narrow vertical groove into the bottom edge of each door - Fixing the guide to the floor - No bottom rollers, no full bottom track, no 50–80mm clearance required Scope of work - Route narrow groove in bottom of both doors - Supply & install suitable low-profile floor guide (or use supplied one if suitable) - Hang both doors on existing top track - Align/adjust so doors are plumb, stable, and slide smoothly - Install stops if required - Clean, professional finish Ideal person - Carpenter or cabinet maker - Experience with top-hung sliding doors - Confident routing grooves in solid timber - High attention to detail Photos provided: top track/hardware, floor guide, installation diagram, and wardrobe setup.
