What do computer hardware services include?

Repairing appliances can be a tricky process, especially when it comes to computers. Computer hardware refers to physical components, such as the monitor, mouse, keyboard, microphone, camera, and touchpad. Hardware also includes the Central Processing Unit (CPU), Random Access Memory (RAM), Graphics Processing Unit (GPU), Power Supply Unit (PSU), motherboard, and hard drive.

On the other hand, software includes the intangible parts of the device, such as the operating system and applications. Hardware and software complement each other and must be in tip-top shape to perform properly.

If you’re wondering what a typical computer hardware service includes, here’s a quick overview:

Computer hardware repair

A computer technician can help identify your device’s hardware issues. Your specialist will then advise you on the next steps and perform the necessary repairs.

Some common hardware problems include:

  • a blank or blue screen

  • overheating

  • strange noises from the computer

  • insufficient memory

  • dysfunctional USB ports

  • a faulty mouse, camera, or keyboard

Computer maintenance

Proper maintenance will help extend your computer’s life, improve slow performance, and keep your computer free from viruses and malware. This step includes checking the device for harmful foreign materials such as dust and tiny insects. Your hired Tasker can make sure there are no faulty electrical wires. You may also need to get some electrical work done to support computer maintenance.

Data recovery

Computer hardware damage can lead to data loss. A data recovery expert can salvage your data when you lose files due to a blackout or hardware failure. Your computer technician may use a data recovery program and access the hardware to retrieve your files. The specialist can also help recover important data from hard disk drives (HDD), memory cards, or USB memory sticks. To prevent similar problems in the future, you can have your specialist install a backup and recovery system on your computer.

Printer repair and maintenance

Has your printer broken down, or do you have a broken printer you’d like to get fixed? A computer hardware technician can repair your printer or scanner. You may also opt to have your toners and ink cartridges refilled.

Services such as assembling your computer, formatting the device, and installing sockets and switches are also available on Airtasker.

Rhodes NSW, Australia

We are having issues with our gaming pc. It has suddenly has ‘high cpu temperature’ error issues when the computer starts up and sits idle (90+ degrees). The pc has an all-in-one liquid cpu cooler (NZXT x62 Kraken). It is about four years old and seems to be making bubbling noises. After some troubleshooting, the cpu cooler seems to be the issue. Could I get a quote on how much it would cost to do a thorough troubleshoot and repair? We are happy to pay for replacement of parts if need be. Thank you

I need computer hardware fault detection

$50

Homebush NSW 2140, Australia

6th Jul 2020

Bought some new PC parts. But after assembly the PC won't start up. It lights up for 1 second and then shuts off. I bare tested the items before and it started up several times but when assembled in the Casing it wont boot up. Bought the products from Mwave, so went back to them for a hardware fault verification. They took long time and honed it down to PSU/CPU. CPU, Mobo, Ram is brand new. PSU is 2 years old. Need someone to do a hardware fault detection and tell me which component is specifically faulty.
