We have one room at the back of our house where the floor has started to sink a few centimetres. This is probably due to previous pest damage (once about 15 yrs ago and again in 2021). We conducted a pest treatment in 2021. We reas It is a double brick house with brick pier subfloor. There is subfloor access under the house but at that point (the room with the problem) the crawl space may very well be inaccessible (see some pictures from a 2021 pest report). So in all likelihood the timber floor will have to be removed to get access to the damaged floor joists or bearers. We realise it is difficult to quote without knowing exactly what work is involved.

We have a set of internal stairs at the back of our house. One of the posts (90 x 90mm) rotted out at the bottom from water that used to get in and soak it. The bottom 90mm of the post is rotten and has been removed. I was going to repair it with a 90 x 90 x 90 plug then skew screw it in however my trusty Makita power saw burned out about an hour ago so I can't cut the plug to shape to fit around the end of the open stair string. I now don't have the time or the motivation or the tool to cut the plug to shape and fit it. I hope you can help.
