I have a metal framed modern sash window that has a painted timber cover. The lock isn’t working. I think the timber cover needs to be removed. I don’t know if it is glued on or not. Once the timber is removed, some problem solving is required to work out how to fix the lock. Once that is resolved, maybe timber cover is put back on or it is left with metal edging exposed.
