Readings to be taken after at least 5 days of no shower use, so results reflect trapped moisture rather than recent showering. Mid-September onwards. Stage 1 — Moisture assessment, both bathrooms 1. Readings to the reverse face of the shower walls (adjoining bedroom and hallway) — these stay dry in normal use and best indicate water migrating through 2. Readings to shower base perimeter, hob and wall/floor junctions 3. Check for drummy or delaminated tiles 4. Condition of grout and silicone 5. Written findings with readings recorded, plus photos Note: existing inspection holes were cut in the bedroom and hallway walls during earlier investigation and may give cavity access. Stage 2 — Repair, only if Stage 1 supports it If the substrate is dry and sound, quote to restore the watertight seal: regrout, replace failed silicone, seal wall/floor junctions and around the waste, reseal the screen. State your warranty period. If readings show the substrate is wet, I don't want a seal applied over a wet substrate. Plumber testing dated 1 July 2026 reports that: Main — pressure test passed, flood test failed with water escaping from the shower base. Holes and deterioration in the silicone at the tap penetrations. Ensuite — pressure test passed, flood test failed. No other plumbing defects found. Include in your offer: QBCC licence number and class Stage 1 fee, separate from any repair Type of moisture meter you use Warranty offered on resealing, in writing Public liability insurance Availability from mid-September Access via managing agent. I am looking for an experienced bathroom waterproofing specialist, tiler and leak detection professional to inspect and repair a shower leak at my property in St James, WA. Background: Approximately 10 months ago, I had a shower regrouting and sealing service completed by a specialist company to address water ingress. After the repair, the issue appeared to be resolved for around 6–7 months. Recently, signs of water damage have reappeared on the adjoining wall, including bubbling and peeling paint, suggesting that water may still be penetrating behind the shower tiles. The previous contractor has advised that residual moisture can take 18–24 months to dry out, but I am concerned because the symptoms disappeared for several months before returning. What I need: Inspect the shower and adjoining wall to determine whether there is ongoing water ingress or simply residual moisture. For peace of mind, I would like to just replace the internal shower pipework, rewaterproof and retile. Additional Information: The shower is tiled. Photos of the affected areas provided. I require a qualified tradesperson to inspect and provide a written quote for repairs relating to a leaking shower. The scope of works includes: - Assessing and waterproofing the shower area to stop the leak. - Repairing water damage to the basement ceiling directly below the bathroom, caused by the shower leak. - Providing a detailed written quote outlining the required repairs and costs. Following recent complaint from neighbouring Unit about damp wall had Plumber investigate. Report indicates "Spray tested shower cubicle and found immediate water escaping through grout lines. • Used thermal imaging and confirmed water tracking from shower area, likely beneath tiles, contributing to water ingress into neighbouring property." Think shower walls and base need grouting and waterproofing then rebuild of shower including tiles and walls and probably new shower screen. We think physical inspection needed to provide accurate quote.
