I got my flat inspected and following points needs to be addressed (please bring the self closer and alarms with you & include these in your pricing estimate) 1- Kitchen – will require a smoke/fire alarm, and the fire door needs a self-closer and the fire strips around the door (example pictures below) (Similarly, you can install a ‘perko’ style self-closer which will need a new hinge in the middle) 2- Utilities room will require a carbon monoxide alarm. Our alarm needs changing batteries but we've no step ladder and it's in a very awkward position on the upstairs landing above the stairs and the ceiling is high. Not entirely sure what batteries needed as first time we've changed it. Would be great to get it sorted and have correct batteries refitted safely, or if it just needs a reset - for that to be done. Quick help would be great as we've had a neighbour mention it.

My fire alarm keeps beeping every 20 seconds. It started doing this months ago, but I usually could hold the main button down for 15 seconds and the beeping would stop. Now, it doesn't work and beeping goes on regardless. The alarm is wired in and seems to be connected centrally to the flat building, and I have tried so many ways of opening it to change the backup battery but it looks like you need tools to do it. There's no indication of model at all so I can't find a manual for it online. Dont know if battery is low or whole alarm system has expired

One smoke alarm in my flat made the fire alarm noise. I tried changing the old battery with new ones but the fire alarm noise wouldn’t stop. I had to temporarily disassemble the smoke alarm. Need the smoke alarm repaired. Or have it replaced if it’s not fixable.
