Hi, I’m looking for an experienced handyman or carpenter (ideally with plastering experience) to complete several jobs in my flat in Crystal Palace. 1. Ceiling repair (water damage – priority) Ceiling has previous water damage and cracking (see photo) Leak has already been addressed Needs: –Crack repair –Any loose/blown plaster removed and made good –Surface smoothed and sealed (stain-block if needed) –Must be properly prepped before painting 2. Ceiling trim box (feature wall) Build and install 10cm x 10cm box section (MDF or similar) Fixed to ceiling above acoustic slat wall Purpose: –Hide ceiling imperfections –Create clean architectural finish –Needs to align with side trims and be paint-ready 3. Adjust hidden panel / boiler cupboard door Slatted panel door needs: ~10cm cut from top –Re-fixed to frame –Still open cleanly under new trim –Must remain visually seamless with wall 4. Dishwasher fixing Integrated dishwasher needs securing properly Currently loose Fix to cabinet sides 5. Paint front room (fresh white) Full room repaint Walls required (please confirm ceiling/woodwork) Room size in floor plan 6. I previously had a leak from my shower tray, which a plumber confirmed was most likely due to failed sealant. He advised it could be fixed with resealing, so I attempted a DIY repair, but it didn’t fully resolve the issue. As a temporary measure, I applied waterproof tape, which has stopped the leak for now. However, I’ve since noticed a gap forming in the skirting board behind the shower wall, and there is also an old stain on the carpet from the earlier leak. I’m now looking for someone to properly fix the issue permanently. This would likely involve removing old sealant, resealing the shower tray correctly, and checking for any underlying issues. I’d also appreciate advice on whether anything else (e.g. movement in the tray or damage behind the wall) needs addressing.
