Tiny flat, two small bedrooms, one area kitchen/dining/lounge. Currently all white. Would like refresh and potentially some colour to add personality to an otherwise very blank canvas. My child wants his tiny bedroom painted black. I'm open to it but wonder if there is a compromise. I need advice really, I'm not sure what works and what doesn't. Would want someone to clean up after finishing the job. Would appreciate someone with experience in this area (able to give advice on colour etc).

This house has 3 bed rooms, formal living, dining, family rooms and 2 bathrooms (see plan). External areas include verandah which has lot of exposed brick which doesn't need to be painted(see photos). Tiled roof is not to be painted, so only a small section will need work(see front facade photo to get idea). There is a fence (including gates) on two sides of the property (Shown in yellow on the plan) that also needs to be painted. Additional clarification :- 1. Property will be vacant during paint job (except some packaged furniture which can be moved around) 2. Paint will be supplied 3. Ceilings (including verandah ceiling ) need to painted. 4. Exterior walls (including verandah pillars) need to be painted only in areas where there is no exposed brick work (which reduces the work considerably). 5. Needs same colour scheme for exterior. 6. For interior, colour scheme may vary for some rooms but would be mostly similar shade. 7. This single-storey house has a small studio attic (2.4 x 4.1) that also needs to be painted. 8. All doors & frames, windows & frames, architraves, skirting need to be painted. 9. Both bathrooms are fully tiled. So only the ceilings, doors and a window needs to be painted. 10. While most areas may need a single coat of paint, some areas need special attention like - a. Windows near the entrance and in living room b. French door at the rear and in the bedroom. c. Newly installed bathroom door d. Main entrance door. Exterior Paint Job ----------------- Walls & Surfaces • External rendered walls • Weatherboard or cladding (timber, fibre cement, Hardie board) Timber and Woodworks • Fascia boards • Eaves and soffits • Barge boards • Timber trims and mouldings • Window and door frames (timber only)
