We need someone with basic IT / AV support experience to visit a shop in central Cambridge and carry out a simple technical task on a music/media player. The task involves: Visiting the site during agreed opening hours Speaking professionally with the site manager on arrival Locating the music/media player Plugging in a USB stick Following a short step-by-step instruction sheet Exporting or copying the required data Emailing the files back to us Taking clear photos to confirm the player, USB connection, and completed file transfer Calling us from site if anything looks different from the instructions No installation is required. This is a straightforward onsite support task, but we need someone reliable, careful, and comfortable with basic technical equipment. You should ideally have experience with one or more of the following: IT support AV equipment Media players Routers or network equipment USB file transfer Basic onsite troubleshooting You will need to bring: A smartphone with camera A laptop if possible USB-A stick that you can then plug into your latop. Please only apply if you are confident following technical instructions, communicating clearly, and sending files/photos immediately after the visit. I have a community fibre network. I have subsequently installed an Eero mesh system. I have recently experienced many issues: 1. I have a Hik-Connect system for my Entryphone and CCTV and the recording does not work; 2. I cannot connect to WebEx, unless I use the Community Fibre Network (instead of Eero) 3. I have issues to connect with my Hive system. I need someone who can go through the house and check everything I have and make sure it works properly with Eero changing network as it would be a significant issues because of all the system I have currently linked to Eero Network.

Wi-Fi Router Settings Make sure the 2.4 GHz band is enabled on your Wi-Fi router The DHCP function must be activated on the router Authentication via MAC addresses must be deactivated. Make sure that Bonjour and Multicast are enabled on the Wi-Fi router and additional access points. Network tools such as "Storm Control" and others, allow multicast to be restricted and therefore Bonjour. Disable this setting. So-called Powerline/PowerLAN adapters also restrict Bonjour or do not allow it. These access points are not suitable for the use of HomeKit-based Wi-Fi devices. Apple Home Hub Settings Make sure your Apple Home hub is connected to the 2.4 GHz band of your router. iPhone/iPad Settings Make sure the iPhone/iPad is connected to the 2.4 GHz band of your router.

URGENT: Looking for a same-day visit today (Wednesday). Willing to pay a premium rate for a quick 10-minute fix to get my parents' Wi-Fi back online. NB this is a description written using Gemini's help cos I have no idea what I'm talking about. I'm trying to diagnose the problem and hire someone to help from 250 miles away. 🫠 They are super upset about having no WiFi so really appreciate your help. My mum has what looks from her blurry picture (attached) and description like a broken Cat6 Ethernet cable probably running through an internal wall that probably connects the main internet router to a mesh Wi-Fi node. The clear plastic RJ45 clip at the router end has completely sheared off, and the internal colored copper wires are frayed and exposed. This is causing the whole household Wi-Fi to drop out. I think you need to: - Cut off the top 2 inches of the damaged cable end. - Strip the outer jacket back cleanly. - Crimp/terminate a brand-new RJ45 male connector plug onto the wire. - Quickly plug it back into the router and ensure Deco nodes turn green. NB: If I'm wrong and this cable doesn't even go to the Decos, please just look at the setup and help my mum get the Wi-Fi back online anyway. The main goal is getting her internet working! I do know that there's internet going to the house because the (hard wired) smart TV is working. Requirements: You must bring your own standard network toolkit, including a data cable stripper, an RJ45 crimping tool, and a spare RJ45 connector plug (Cat6/Cat6a compatible). This is a very straightforward, 10-minute job for anyone with the right tools. My parents are at the property, but I am organizing and paying for this remotely via the app, so good communication via Airtasker chat is essential. Thank you!
