Job Title: Budget carpet fitter for 13 stairs with a bend (Fitting Only) Job Description: Looking for an independent carpet fitter or experienced handyman to lay carpet on a flight of 13 stairs. The staircase has a bend/curve in it. • What I have: I have the carpet and spray adhesive ready on-site. • Preparation: The stairs will be completely cleared, stripped to bare wood, and clean before you arrive. • Materials note: I need you to supply and install standard carpet grippers for the curved section to ensure it's secure (happy to pay an extra £10 for the rods, or let me know if I should buy them). • Tools: Please bring your own carpet kicker, bolster, and sharp knife to handle the cuts around the bend. The room is 4mx3.8m - it is very square with only a small diagonal space where the door is. We would need someone to rip out the carpet and replace it with LVT. The LVT has underlay already attached. We have already bought the LVT - we have around 17m2 so enough for wastage too. I removed a fireplace and so some of the floor underneath the carpet is exposed. Have attached a photo to give an idea of what you would be dealing with. Would prefer a herringbone pattern but happy to go simpler if it lowers the price

Looking for an experienced flooring contractor to replace existing carpet in approximately 36 m²: Bedroom: ~12 m² (3m × 4m) Living room: ~17.2 m² (4m × 4.3m) Hallway A: ~3.5 m² (3.5m × 1m) Hallway B: ~3.6 m² (3.6m × 1m) Scope of work Remove and dispose of existing carpet and underlay. Remove and refit skirting boards as required for proper installation. Inspect the exposed subfloor once the carpet is removed and assess whether it is suitable for vinyl flooring. Carry out any necessary subfloor repairs, preparation and levelling to achieve a suitable, stable and reasonably level surface. Please discuss/agree any significant additional repair costs before proceeding. Preferred option: install vinyl flooring if the subfloor can be suitably prepared. Alternative: if the subfloor cannot reasonably be brought to a suitable standard for vinyl, install new carpet instead. Therefore, contractor must be experienced in both vinyl and carpet installation. Move all furniture as required. Heavy furniture must be safely dismantled where possible, moved, and reassembled once flooring is complete. Supply and install all necessary underlay/adhesive, trims, thresholds and finishing materials. Protect walls, doors, furniture and other property during the work. Remove all installation waste and leave the areas clean. Please quote for the complete job Please provide an itemised quotation covering: Carpet/underlay removal and disposal Subfloor preparation/repairs/levelling Skirting removal and refitting Furniture moving and disassembly/reassembly Vinyl supply and installation Carpet supply and installation as the alternative Trims, thresholds and other necessary materials I am looking for someone who can manage the entire process from carpet removal and subfloor assessment through to final flooring installation, rather than requiring separate contractors. Location: Ealing, West London. Measurements are approximate and can be confirmed on site.
