My mother is hosting two family celebration dinners at her small penthouse flat in NW8 (St John's Wood) and is looking for a friendly, experienced woman to help with serving and clearing up on both evenings. Someone familiar with Indian family gatherings would be ideal, but it's not a dealbreaker. Dates and times - Sunday 8 November, Diwali dinner, 5:30pm to about 9:30–10pm (15 guests) - Tuesday 10 November, engagement family dinner, 5:30pm to about 9:30–10pm (12 guests) We'd prefer the same person for both evenings. Please be flexible if we overrun slightly. Any extra time will be paid for the hours worked. About the evenings - Family celebrations, so we'd like service to be polished and attentive, but warm. It's not a super formal occasion on both counts, but it is a celebration. - Our cook/housekeeper (male, Indian) will handle the cooking, and the family will also help What we need help with - Serving drinks - Putting dinner out and replenishing dishes - Clearing after dinner - Washing up, drying and putting away - Clearing up the kitchen and dining area after dinner Ideal helper - Experience serving at private celebrations or home dinners - Comfortable with Indian food and family occasions such as Diwali - Happy to work alongside our cook/housekeeper and the family - Calm, polite, discreet and neat and clean - The flat and kitchen are small (it's going to be a squeeze), so being able to handle a bit of chaos will help! When you make an offer, please tell us about your experience with home dinners and confirm you're available for both evenings.
