I'm looking to get a bathroom repair job done at a property in Footscray. The problem: Water is escaping from around the shower during normal use — specifically hitting the wall tiles next to the shower — and finding its way behind the tiles and leaking out next to the bath tub onto the bathroom floor. This caused the floor tiles to crack over time. We've since had the floor tiles removed to investigate. The wall area next to the shower has been temporarily taped up as a make-safe measure and this has fully stopped the leak. What needs to be done — two parts: 1. Reseal the wall tiles next to the shower (and around the shower tap) with a good-quality silicone or other appropriate sealing product, replacing the temporary tape currently in place. This needs to properly seal the junctions to stop water getting behind the tiles again. 2. Re-lay the bathroom floor tiles. The floor tiles have already been removed and we have spare matching tiles on-site (stored in the backyard) — so this is about laying and grouting the existing tiles, not sourcing new ones. Ideally we'd like one person to handle both parts of the job.
