I’m looking for an experienced hospitality assistant to help at a private dinner party in Melbourne CBD. There will be 12 guests, with each bringing a dish to share. The goal is for the evening to feel relaxed and effortless, and I’m looking for someone who can quietly keep everything running so I can enjoy the night with my guests. Hours: 6:15pm–10:15pm Dress code: All black. Duties include: * Greeting guests and serving drinks on arrival. * Keeping drinks topped up throughout the evening. * Remembering what each guest is drinking, including which wine or beverages belong to each person, so they’re always served the correct drink. * Light food preparation only (e.g. heating dishes or simple plating). No cooking required. * Bringing each course to the table (food will be served family-style/pass-around). * Clearing plates and glassware throughout the evening. * Washing and rotating glassware. * End-of-night pack down, including washing crockery and glassware, wiping benches and leaving the kitchen clean and tidy. You’ll be the only hospitality staff member, so I’m looking for someone who is confident working independently, uses initiative and notices what needs doing without being asked. My apartment is on Level 10, the event space is on Level 9, so you will be going to and from levels using an elevator for the below tasks. Date: Saturday, 1 August 2026 Time: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM (5 hours) Guests: Approximately 20–25 people The event will be held in the apartment’s residents’ function space, and I can provide secure parking within the building for your convenience. Responsibilities include: • Mixing and serving a small selection of cocktails and drinks on guest arrival. • Plating and serving catered food throughout the evening. • Heating pre-prepared starters in the oven and serving them to guests. • Setting up grazing platters and food displays. • Clearing used plates and glasses throughout the event. • Washing and reusing glassware and serving platters as required. • Keeping food and drink areas tidy and well stocked. • Assisting with pack down at the end of the night. • Cleaning the venue and disposing of rubbish in the apartment building’s waste disposal area.
