Or Jack Under Lower Control Arm Many HQ restorers install springs by: Removing the shock absorber. Positioning the spring correctly in the upper seat. Supporting the lower control arm with a floor jack. Slowly jacking the control arm up until the ball joint can be connected. Reinstalling the ball joint and shock. A safety chain through the spring is strongly recommended because HQ springs store a huge amount of energy.
