What’s included with your lawn mowing service?
A standard lawn mowing service involves cutting the grass to between 5-10 cms (2”- 4”), normally using a petrol lawnmower. Lawn mowing contractors will usually bring their own equipment, plus bags to take the rubbish away. If you have a large garden or acreage, a ride on mower might be required, so make sure you specify the size of the area in your post.
But it doesn’t have to end there. Many lawn mowing service providers offer other inclusions along with the mowing, like...
Edging and whipper snipping
Lawn mowing professionals will have a whipper snipper (and other tools) to give your lawn sharp edges and stop your grass from growing onto the footpath or curbs. They’ll also clean around garden beds, trees, and features for a clean, professional finish.
Rubbish removal
Your gardener may use a leaf blower or broom to remove cut grass from the pathways and edges to leave a clear surface. They’ll also take away any lawn clippings, twigs, and any debris that was on the grass before cutting. If you prefer, you can ask that they leave the grass clippings for you to use as mulch or compost.
Lawn mowing does not usually include removing hard rubbish and waste from your grass. If you want your gardener to clear the area before cutting, make sure you specify this so they can include it in their quote.
Fertilising
Keeping your lawns lush and green requires regular feeding and should be part of your garden maintenance. Knowing which fertilisers to apply and when can make the difference between golf-club enviable green and corn flakes crunchy lawns. Strong, healthy lawns need less watering and are more weed resistant.
Weed killing
Keeping weeds out of your lawns will make them a more welcoming place to play, rest, and relax without worrying about prickles and spikes. Regular trimming, manual weed removal, and organic or chemical weed kill will keep your lawns looking a lot healthier, too. You might also add on weeding for your garden beds so your whole garden can look tidy.
Leaf blowing
Leaves on your grass and driveway not only look messy but can create a hazard if they get wet and slippery. Your gardener can provide leaf blowing services and a garden tidy up, including removing the dry leaves.
Aerating
Soil can get compacted over time, so regular aerating is a good idea if you want to keep it healthy. To aerating your lawn, your gardener will use a machine to make small holes in the ground at regular intervals. This allows for better drainage and allows air, water, and nutrients to reach the roots of the grass.
Seeding

I would like lawn mowing done & the trees tidied up and trimmed down to the fenceline or just above. Trim back from fenceline & garage roof too, if required. The trees need a chainsaw or similar to be quick & easy. Secateurs aren't strong enough or quick. Hedge trimmer might only work on small branches. Need someone for lawn mowing and edge trimming (no hedge cutting needed). The lawn was trimmed exactly 3 weeks ago. So it is bit tall but not wild. Our regular guy has moved interstate. So, depending on the quality of the work, we'd like to engage someone on on-going basis. Have a look at the pictures. It is typical 700 sqm block. Nothing fancy.
