May require lifting edge of colour bond roofing to feed cable snake. Location in Herston. Any day this week or in 2 weeks time. images attached to show inside ceiling cavity (cable can be run cleanly without beams/joists blocking it), external image shows red line to indicate where the cable would run down the slope of the roof, along the building front (inside the roof) and then down the brick cavity to the junction box where the NBN lead in copper for the townhouses terminates. External conduit is NOT desirable - especially on the frontage due to the building being 2 dwellings.

I have arranged the supply of all the equipment myself (solar panels and inverter for 5kW system) and so far all the panels have been installed on the roof. With the electrician who did the rough in running the DC cabling up to the roof, too. I now just need someone to connect the whole system up, commission the inverter and be able to claim back the STCs for us.

Had Optus tech out to test connection, he has tested up to the box outside the house and advised there is a working phone line to this, he tested the phone points in the house and diagnosed an internal wiring issue. I wouldnt mind the 3 jack points upgrading to something a little more modern looking anyway so quotes on fixing the line issue and replacing 3 jack points to new ones.

Energex defected a cable between the meter and main switch, which needs replacing. Also, there is an unterminated cable running 5ish meters from the switch board, along the ceiling joists over to a light fiting. Energex has asked that we investigate whether it's live, rectify any issues, then have the contractor sign the defect report as completed. The cables are easily accessible as it's a Queenslander style home and the cables are within meters of each other. We're free all day today and tomorrow.
