I am wanting to relocate the point of attachment (POA) for my overhead electricity service line approximately 1 metre from its current position on my house, using an approved raiser/extension bracket rather than installing a private power pole. Have been told by Energex a fairly straightforward setup: the service cable (the black aerial bundled cable) terminates at a simple strain/dead-end clamp bolted directly to the timber fascia board, right beside where the meter/service fuse enclosure is mounted on the wall. Happy to consider the simplest/cheapest solution - whether that’s a raiser pole or just moving this same style of clamp/bracket out roughly 1m from its current position, likely along the same fascia line or onto an extension arm fixed to the fascia or roof structure. Hoping dearly not to relocate it too far from the existing point because the main switch board is at ground level underneath this position. The fascia/eave here is timber, which matches what I mentioned earlier — that takes coach screws into solid timber rather than needing masonry anchors, so a Level 2 electrician should have straightforward fixing options for a new bracket position. Energex are replacing the line out the front which prompted their visit and I have started recent works on the front of my property (approved plans through Council) that apparently didn’t consider Energex’s requirements. Energex have told me that Moving the point of attachment out 1m will change that angle and the amount of slack needed. Hoping too that the the aerial attachment point itself is the only thing that needs relocating with the existing fuse/meter run staying put. Happy to be advised.

Cleaning of main airconditioning unit
