AC Installation Requirements (Sandwich Panel) Room: ~10m² | Wall: Nearly 8cm thick EPS Foam Sandwich Panel AC: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Inverter Split System (Pre-purchased) please review these essential requirements due to the unique panel wall structure: 1. Indoor Unit Mounting (Through-Wall Bolts): The foam core has no structural grip. Do not use standard screws. You must use long threaded bolts (10-12cm) to drill completely through the wall, using large heavy-duty washers or a backing plate on the exterior wall to distribute the load safely. 2. Wall Core & Sleeve: Panel cut edges are razor-sharp. You must install a plastic PVC wall sleeve. All copper pipes and cables must pass inside the sleeve to avoid rubbing against sharp metal edges (fire/short-circuit hazard). 3. Outdoor Unit: Must be placed on the ground with thick rubber anti-vibration pads. Do not hang it on the panel wall to prevent loud indoor noise/resonance. 4. Vacuum Pump: This is an inverter system. You must use a vacuum pump for at least 15 minutes to pull a deep vacuum (-0.1 MPa). No gas purging allowed. 5. Waterproof Sealing: Fill the wall hole with expanding foam, then seal both sides completely with neutral weatherproof silicone to stop water leaking into the foam core. 6. Hi, I’m looking for a licensed air-conditioning installer to supply and install a new Daikin reverse-cycle air-conditioning setup in my 2-bedroom apartment in Ryde. My preferred setup is: * Living room: 1 × Daikin wall-mounted split system, likely around 4.6–5.0 kW, with its own outdoor unit. (There is currently no unite installed here i had attached a picture showing where the installation should go, there space for the outdoor unit outside the wall) * Master bedroom: approx. 2.0–2.5 kW indoor unit. * Second bedroom: approx. 2.0–2.5 kW indoor unit. * Both bedroom units to operate from one Daikin multi-split outdoor unit. * All three indoor units to have Wi-Fi/app control, ideally allowing them to be controlled together through the Daikin app. There is currently an older Panasonic split system servicing the master bedroom. This will need to be removed, including the existing outdoor unit. Existing pipe/electrical routes may potentially be reused where appropriate. The outdoor units are located on the apartment balcony. The two bedrooms are adjacent to each other and close to the existing AC pipework, so the bedroom installation should be relatively straightforward. For the living room, I would like the indoor wall unit installed on the green wall shown in the photos. Pipework/drainage route will need to be assessed. I’m open to the installer recommending the correct capacities after assessing the apartment rather than being locked into the sizes above. Please quote for complete supply and installation, including Daikin equipment, Wi-Fi functionality/adapters if required, electrical work, pipework, drainage, brackets/mounting, removal/disposal of the existing Panasonic system, commissioning and GST.
