I have an elevated uncovered rear deck that needs bearers and joists replaced due to age and deterioration. The deck measures approximately 7.2m x 2.7m. The deck currently has a single bearer (hardwood 175 x 75mm) supported by 4 steel posts. 18 joists (hardwood 110 x 50mm) sit on top of the bearer at one end and a ledger (hardwood 90 x 45mm) on the house side. I need a builder who can check what bearer and joist sizes are necessary to meet load regulations, and to mount a new bearer and new joists. I would also like the builder to mount hardwood posts that will support the handrail and bottom rail of the balustrade. I plan to lay the decking myself, and attach the balustrading. Once the bearer and joist sizes are determined, I can arrange for the materials to be delivered to the site. - Due date: Flexible
