We've recently moved into a house where one section of wooden floorboards is coloured differently to the nearby sections. We would like that section of floor restained so that it better matches the rest of the house. We know it likely won't be possibly to perfectly match the colour - that's fine, we just want the difference to be less obvious. The area measures approximately 3.5m x 3.5m. We don't know what wood the floorboards are made of, nor what stains or products have been used. The house is from around 1900. We are seeking someone to: - Sand that area of floor back, - Stain the floorboards to better match the rest of the house, and - Apply a new topcoat. We will pay for the stain and top coat - but would appreciate your expertise to choose and purchase the right products to use, particularly to best match the colour. The house is currently empty so there's no furniture etc to work around. We will have some people painting the house at the same time but will make sure they are not in your way. Work can be carried out any time between Sat 15 Aug to Thu 20 Aug. There's free street parking outside and it's usually not difficult to find a spot. Hi, I’m looking for someone experienced in marble/stone benchtop repairs. There are some yellow stains on the marble benchtop, as shown in the attached photo. It appears that the surface protective film/coating may have been stained or discoloured rather than just having normal surface marks. I’m looking for someone who can inspect the benchtop and advise whether: the stained surface layer can be removed, repaired or recoated; or the affected section / entire benchtop needs to be replaced. Ideally, we would prefer to repair or restore the existing benchtop if possible. Please let me know your experience with this type of repair and your estimated cost. There was a leak from the neighbours and the corridor ceiling paint has gone a bit yellow. Just need to repaint it, and obviously add some water seal. It’s a small part of the corridor ceiling so not big at all.

We need an experienced timber finisher / carpenter / flooring professional to sand, stain and clear-seal approximately 6 metres of raw 12 x 12 mm clear-pine tri-quad scotia. This is finishing only — the scotia does not need to be cut, mitred or installed. The goal is to get the visible curved face of the scotia as close as reasonably possible to our existing light warm-oak engineered timber floor. We tried one test section using Feast Watson Prooftint at full strength and it came out far too dark, so we need someone experienced with staining pine to properly test and control the colour before proceeding with the full lengths. We currently have: * raw Porta 12 x 12 mm clear-pine tri-quad scotia — approx. 6 m total * Feast Watson Prooftint timber stain * Feast Watson Matt Clear Varnish * 220-grit sanding sponge * timber finishing brush We believe these are the main required materials, but please advise if a timber primer/conditioner, colour reducer, different stain shade, or other preparation product is needed to achieve an even light-oak result on pine. Hi, I've got 5 lots of book cases with 6 shelves on each of them that need 3 coats of stain applied to each area and two coats of clear. Between each coat the timber needs to be sanded. Also, the whole area needs to be prepared, the screw holes patched, and everything taped so stain doesn't go on the paint. The timber is mostly ply with a hardwood capping. Also, there is a 1.5x1.5 area that needs to be painted cream, the same as the rest of the house. It was just rendered.
