I’m buying a 2017 Mazda CX-9 GT (2.5 turbo, FWD, ~105K kms) and need a thorough mechanical inspection. 1st priority: the 2.5 turbo in 2016 to 2020 models has a documented risk of cylinder head cracking near the exhaust manifold. I have no sign this car has a crack. I want it tested to rule it out. Do these first: - Cooling-system pressure test on a cold engine, with gauge photos - Fault-code scan, including pending codes - Coolant and engine oil condition (contamination) - Back of engine, manifold, heat shields and hoses: coolant leaks or residue, rechecked when warm Then the full check: - Engine, turbo, intake: leaks, noises, idle and warm-up - Transmission: shift quality, fluid, codes - Brakes: pad and rotor measurements - Suspension and steering: play, bushes, shocks - Tyres: tread depth, age, wear - Battery and charging, air conditioning, lights, electrics - Underbody: leaks, rust, accident repair - Body, paint, service history, and whether the right-hand mirror glass is original - Test drive of about 15 mins if allowed by Cars24. If not, run the engine fully warm and recheck for leaks and codes - Engine number matches the paperwork Location: Cars24 in Altona North. They’ve confirmed in writing that you can do the checks there. The car can’t leave the site though, so bring your own equipment (including portable lift or ramps). I’ll ask them not to start the engine before you arrive, and give a day’s notice. Deliverable: written report with photos and pass, watch or fail ratings, same day. Offer one fixed price for this exact scope, and say if anything can’t be done in this setup. Tell me if you have any Mazda or turbo experience. Please have an ABN.
